Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has launched the 4th season of the Banega Swachh India campaign, aiming to motivate people to take care of their surroundings and promote cleanliness.With an urban population of 429 million citizens, India produces around 62 million tonnes of garbage every single day out of which 5.6 million tonnes is plastic waste. From the total amount of garbage only 22-28% is treated and more than 70% of the collected urban waste is dumped into landfills.
