Delhi is the capital of the country and the most diverse one amongst all states and cities. Every day, new people come in and in turn end up staying and making this their new home.
Fondly called Dilli, the city easily embraces citizens and cultures from across all borders. Passionate about their food, culture and history, Delhiites are equally possessive about the nation’s favourite game; cricket.
The word ‘cricket’ has always managed to light up the faces of Delhiites. The city literally lives and breathes the game, due to which the city has seen the rise of some great cricketers along the way.
Since the conception of the IPL back in 2007, the city finally got a team which they eagerly waited for in the form of Delhi Daredevils. A team which stood for and shared the same things as its residents, which is hunger, passion and pride. The hunger to perform, the passion to play and the pride for the city.
The management wanted a campaign for the new season that would resonate out loud and would be synonymous with the city and the people. It was then decided that the campaign ‘Dil Dilli Hai’ would be launched for IPL 2017.
It was soon introduced on the brand’s social and print platforms. The campaign caught the attention of people and instantly became the talk of the town. #DilDilliHai created an emotional connect with its fans & supporters. It also managed to capture the essence of Delhi through the game of cricket.
The audience related with it – as the communication touched upon the rich legacy of Delhi, Unity in Diversity, its flavourful food and of course the very own players of Delhi Daredevils.
The campaign saw a high level of engagement and interaction on all the social platforms as well.
While the Dil Dilli Hai campaign has steadily climbed up the ladder in terms of popularity, sources tell us that campaign is looking to venture into many other activities that would showcase the city and Delhi Daredevils in an authentic and beautiful way.
We wish Delhi Daredevils all the very best for the upcoming season and to its fans we say ‘DilDilliHai’.
