Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence played the successful entrepreneur in the movie – Joy as she speaks about her role’s characteristics. The actress plays the real life entrepreneur Joy Mangano who overcame numerous obstacle in her life to become the inventor of the now infamous- Miracle Mop.
This Oscar nominated film directed by David O. Russell, is inspired by Joy as a person and her story to success with the invention of the Miracle-Mop. It narrates the story of her success, her family and how she through all her troubles managed to make herself a millionaire who created her own business empire.
Jennifer Lawrence portrayed the main title role of the film. While talking about her character she says,
“The movie is about celebrating the unsung heroes of every household—no, not every household—but these women who forfeit their dreams for their families and then there's this love that she still has for herself and a desire and she has her own dreams”.
Adding about the obstacles her character faced and what eventually drove her to success, she says, “Different things. There's her family who supports her but also hurts her at the same time. Nobody really could see her vision with the mop—every time she tried to sell it, she just kept getting shut down and again and again and again. The only person who believes in her is her and that's all she needs and she has her vision, she has her dream, she has her vigilance, and she keeps pushing forward”.
