Navi Mumbai: This winter season ITM Group of Institutions organised a unique of its kind Inter college cricket league of 2018 known as the ‘ITM Cricket League 2K18. The cricket league was a two day event which resulted in deciding the winners of the match. The Institution by organising the event took into account team spirit amongst different departments. Students from various departments like from the Institute of Hotel Management, Institute of Health Science, ITM Business School and the rest were from the Institute of Fashion Design and Technology department performed enthusiastically. The opening ceremony was looked upon at the event where Mr Rahil Shaikh & Mr Ramanpreet Singh Ghuman renowned cricketers of Mumbai by their presence gloomed the cricket league at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Belapur.
Out of all 24 teams, the ITM IHS was declared the Winning team price worth of Rs 12,000 was given to them for their successive win. Team from ITM IHM was declared the runner up team and price worth Rs 6,000 was given as a token of appreciation. Mr Imran Khan of ITM IHS was declared as the Player of the Series, Mr. Nilesh was declared as the best batsman, Mr. Sankesh was declared as the best bowler. The students around the Institution had the privilege to enjoy every single round which counted towards qualification for the next round. New challenges came into place which attained interest in the students for development over the game.
This is the first time that the students of ITM Group of Institutions came together to compete against each other. The eligibility of the players was marked upon against the potentiality of the students. Safety measures were taken into consideration by the Institution for a safe and enjoyable game. All the rules and regulations of the game were strictly followed by all the teams.
Mr. Nidheesh Saxena (Director - Admissions) ITM Group of Institutions said: “Give a tough fight to your opponent, and don’t surrender till the last ball is played. Winning the trophy is important but more important are the lessons learnt in the battle ground. These learning will go a long way once you start climbing the corporate ladder and face challenges. I believe that the word surrender should not exist in a leader’s dictionary.”
Speaking on the occasion Mr Rahil Shaikh, a renowned cricketer of India “The sport is not merely a sport as we coming from cricket background know that there is a great deal of learning on the ground itself. This is one of the only sports tournament that bring ITM students of Mumbai together, so I urge all participants to play with great spirit, let the best team win “
The environment at the Stadium was geared up by the enthusiasm showed by the students of all departments and the event resulted in creating the next cricketers of the nation. ITM Group of Institutions looks upon giving the best to their students from quality of education, innovations in the course to extracurricular experience.
