Oscar & Grammy winner A.R Rahman Surprises 1000 All-Girl Choir at BOLLYWOOD PARKS™ Dubai!

A Record-breaking 1000 girl choir left awestruck after a surprise visit from the Musical Maestro, during their tribute performance of Maa Tujhe Salaam.
Dubai, Jan 2018: In a rare celebration of music and the resonant power of Master virtuoso, AR Rahman, girls from GEMS Our Own English High School, Dubai came together for a grand ode to the noted composer and to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the schools opening, anchoring it as one of the nations great institutions.
The live performance, set under the opulent backdrop of Rajmahal Theatre at the BOLLYWOOD PARKS Dubai, was a planned activation organised by Brothers Incorporated in anticipation of AR Rahmans forthcoming concert, The Journey: A Celebration of Music.
However, unbeknownst to the girls, school staff and principal, Mr. Rahman chose to make an unannounced appearance, leaving everyone on site completely astonished.
Brought together under the tutelage of Kevin Oliver, Group Cultural Coordinator, GEMS Education, the group of 1000 girls, aged between 5 and 17 performed Maa Tujhe Salaam, one of Indias most popular patriotic songs of all time.
The performance was truly soul stirring! To imagine that 1000 talented girls, came together to perform one of my favourite compositions, beautifully, is a moment I will cherish forever, said Rahman.
Kevin, known for his irreplicable attention to detail, stated that over three months in the making, this choral production, was a heartwarming tribute to the Oscar and Grammy-winning composer.
AR Rahman himself is a legend and is frequently seen as a conduit for connecting the world through his music. His work has crossed continents, filled millions with joy, and cemented the use of melody as a vehicle for love and peace. We at GEMS Education are equally humbled to have worked on this project with a truly talented group of our students, said Oliver.
To add to the excitement, Executive Principal, GEMS Our Own English High School - Dubai, Thomas Mathew, said: Its an honour to see our students get on and perform a song that symbolises the profound power of positivity! The track has always been a beacon of hope and accurately reflects the values we try to instil in our students.
AR Rahmans concert is slated to take place on the 26th of January 2018 at the Concert Arena at Bollywood Parks Dubai
