Mumbai, 20th January 2018: The Ex. Mumbai Indians Physiotherapist Dr. Aijaz Ashai was invited to Body Power Expo 2018 which was held in Mumbai. He conducted a session with Body Builders and Martial Arts Fighters where he spoke about injuries and how to get back to fitness post injury. He also had a small session with the Martial Arts and Kickboxing kids who came to this event from Jammu and Kashmir. He spoke to them about enhancing their performance and how to avoid injuries. The event was attended by 50,000 athletes from all over the world. The event was also attended by Coach & General Secretary (Martial Arts Association in J& K) - Asif Hussian, Patron - Malik Asif Noor and President (Martial Arts Association in J& k) - Bilal Ah Shah.Dr. Aijaz Ashai is an expert in the field of advanced physiotherapy. Born in the Kashmir Valley, and graduated in Physiotherapy from the National Institute for the Orthopedically Handicapped, Kolkata; Dr. Ashai in a short span of time has become a renowned name in the field of advanced physiotherapy. He is consulted worldwide for his proficiency in orthopedic rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, prevention and treatment of sports injuries, physical fitness training and weight loss.
Dr. Ashai’s expertise is highly sought after in the sports world. He was the Head Physiotherapist for the celebrity cricket league (Mumbai heroes), Pro Kabaddi League (Bengal Warriors), Indian Rugby Team, the West Zone Deodar Cricket Team and the Chairman of Auxiliary committee of Indian Association of Physiotherapy. He is the Head of Department of Physiotherapy at Apollo Spectra Hospital, Mumbai. He also runs his own fitness and sports rehabilitation center in Mumbai.
In the past, Dr. Ashai has had stints as physio and physical trainer of Indian premier league (Mumbai Indians) and also Mumbai and Delhi Ranji Trophy teams. Dr. Ashai’s expertise and skill have aided famous personalities like cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar, tennis player Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi and squash player Ritwick Bhatacharya. He has also consulted prominent cricket players such as Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Ashish Nehra and many more.
