The wedding countdown has definitely kicked in for the small screen’s most prized couple. Recently actor-comedian Bharti Singh took to Instagram to announce her wedding to her long-time beau Harsh Limbachiyaa on December 3, 2017 after being engaged to him for close to 6 months. We have now learnt that four times national award winning fashion designer, Neeta Lulla has been roped in to curate and design the wedding trousseau of the couple. The couple has already met up with the Manikarnika costume designer a few times already at the latter’s store to discuss the look and feel of the trousseau ever since Bharti has taken a two month sabbatical from work to prepare for the big fat Punjabi wedding that will take place in Goa.
Neeta is no stranger to the world of designer weddings, having been roped in for some of the most discerning weddings such as the wedlock of Aishwarya Rai- Abhishek Bachchan, Esha Deol-Bharat Takhiani, Isha Kopikkar – Timmy Narang, Brahmani Janardhan Reddy- Rajiv Reddy, Adel Sajan- Sana Khan, Sameera Reddy-Akshai Varde, Ahana Deol-Vaibhav Vora, Ritiesh Desumukh-Genelia Fernandez, Nishka Lulla-Dhruv Mehra.
Talking about the concept, the Czarina of fashion Neeta Lulla states, “The theme I have handpicked is fusion and she will resemble the contemporary bride since it’s a destination wedding. Grandeur, colour and quirk are seamlessly blended with culture and heritage in an Indian wedding, we look out to bring the same sentiments in our designs for her wedding. Associating orange with joy, this colour is exactly what we needed for the ‘Chudi ceremony’. Bharti, being the amusing one, it compliments her personality with a little twist of Indian felicity & grace. This gorgeous net anarkali is adorned with ‘chandelier’ buta all over and combined with embroidery on the neckline. It spells tradition in its work and zeal in its appeal. For her reception ceremony, we have designed a gown which is a royal blue affair with diamond embroidery, personifying beauty. The gown is astutely embellished in embroidery densely from top and scattering towards the bottom which iscrafted with a lot of intricacy and care. The gown has a fit and flare silhouette detailed with an off shoulder neckline and tasselled sleeves to add up to the quirk that suffices Bharti’s image. Believing very staunchly in #BeYourOwnKindOfBride, we know the importance of a wedding and the bespoke ensembles that make the most important story of her life flawless.”
On roping in Neeta Lulla for her D-Day, Bharti Singh further adds, “ I’m still in shock that Neeta Lulla is designing my outfit for my reception and wedding but I’m completely tension free now. I have always seen her work on social media and fashion weeks and heard about her work from filmstars and seen it in some of most iconic films. I’m excited about my costume just like I am about my wedding. She is such a great mentor and she has guided us excellently till now. I know she will portray me as me in my most beautiful best on one of the biggest days of my life. I am ever so grateful to her as I admit I’m a big fan of her work.”
