TV Ratings: ‘Big Bang Theory,’ ‘Young Sheldon’ Top Steady Thursday

The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon” were the top-rated and most-watched scripted shows on broadcast Thursdaynight, according to Nielsen data.
Airing at 8 p.m., “Big Bang Theory” averaged a 2.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 13.2 million viewers. “Young Sheldon” followed at 8:30 with a 2.1 and 11.7 million viewers. Both shows were approximately even with their performances the prior week.
Later on CBS, “Mom” (1.4, 8.5 million) and “Life in Pieces” (1.1, 6.4 million) were both even. “SWAT” (0.9, 6.2 million) was down slightly in the demo.
On NBC, “Thursday Night Football” is currently averaging a 2.8 and 9.9 million viewers. Due to the nature of live sports, those numbers will likely see greater than normal adjustment later today. In metered market households, the game drew a 9.4 rating. The top local markets were: Pittsburgh, 36.7; Nashville, 22.3; Richmond, 14.7; New Orleans, 13.6; Norfolk, 12.9; Memphis, 12.6; Denver, 12.3; Baltimore, 12.0; Dayton, 11.8; and Knoxville, 11.7.
On ABC, “Grey’s Anatomy” (1.8, 7.5 million), “Scandal” (1.1, 5 million), and “How to Get Away With Murder” (0.9, 3.7 million) were all even.
For Fox, “Gotham” (0.9, 2.7 million) was even. “The Orville” (0.9, 3.3 million) was down in both measures and is currently at a new series low for total viewers.
On The CW, “Supernatural” (0.6, 1.9 million) was even, as was “Arrow” (0.5, 1.3 million).
NBC won the night with a 2.7 and 9.5 million viewers. CBS was second with a 1.5 and 8.7 million viewers. ABC was third with a 1.3 and 5.4 million viewers. Fox was fourth with a 0.9 and 3 million viewers. The CW averaged a 0.6 and 1.6 million viewers.
