Cricket, Cinema and Curry, commonly appeal to both Indians and British. Cricket has always been a unifying connect between the two Nations. What started in 1721 as a means to avoid boredom by a group of British sailors anchored off the Gujarat coast in India has now grown into a multibillion dollar entertainment industry that helps in cementing cultural, sporting and economic bilateral relations between India and UK.
The exhibition, curated to celebrate the spirit of Cricket, especially the UK-India cricketing ties, traces the long history of cooperation and competition between the two Nations using the cricket narrative. It draws on a wide range of research, archival resources, images, documentary, visuals and audio, to showcase the historic cricketing relationship between India and England. The exhibition also includes  rare films on cricket produced by the Films Division namely The Victory Story (Directed by RAJU BHARATAN) featuring the 1972-73 Indian victory against the English team among others.
The Nehru Science Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India has organised a special press preview of the exhibition on 24th May 2017 (Wednesday) from11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, before its transportation to UK, at the Nehru Science Centre, Dr. E Moses Road, Worli, Mumbai-400018.
