The month long first schedule of Sara Ali Khan's debut film is complete..
MUMBAI; 8th October, 2017: Kedarnath, Bollywood’s much awaited love-story that marks the debut of the most charming and talented Sara Ali Khan, directed by acclaimed filmmaker, Abhishek Kapoor (fondly called Gattu), has wrapped up its month long shoot in the holy lands of Kedarnath and moved base to good ol’ Mumbai. The film also stars Sushant Singh Rajput. We cannot help but wonder if the crew is having withdrawal symptoms post leaving the sacred soil of Kedarnath having shot is some of the most pristine locations there!
"It’s been an incredible schedule.. exhausting and exhilarating.. shooting in the mountains is never easy especially when it’s on a yatra and the weather changes constantly but thankfully the mountain god has blessed our shoot and it’s wrapped as per schedule,” smiled Abhishek Kapoor, the director of this pilgrimage of love and also its co-producer.
He adds, "I have been very fortunate to have very good producers, KriArj and T series, backing this film, our pilgrimage. KriArj with their meticulous code of conduct, their unique passion for films and a strong team support and T series with their successful acumen in the business of film making, together bring much more to the table, than what I could have asked for."
The film, a love story set against the holy temple town of Kedarnath, was shot at some of the most beautiful and untouched locations in the Kedarnath area like the Triyuginarayan Temple or the Akhand Dhuni Temple, held in reverence for the belief that Lord Shiva married Parvati here. The shoot also explored the virgin Chopta forests, an unspoiled natural destination lying in the lap of the Uttarakhand Himalayas that offers views of the imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba.
Says Arjun Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment, “We always knew that the film will be one special experience, but I think with Kedarnath, the experience is bordering divine, especially because ours is a love story and we have managed to shoot a part of it in the temple where they say Lord Shiva married Parvati – the Triyuginarayan Temple or the Akhand Dhuni Temple, if you may. Talk of Divine intervention, and it doesn’t get better than that!”
Of course, Arjun is right to consider it a divine sign, keeping with the mood of the film and the fact that they have managed to keep the locales in sync with the freshness of their debutante actress, Sara Ali Khan who has floored everyone with her disarming charm and unbridled talent.
“When we first saw the Chopta forests, and their untouched beauty, we were overwhelmed with our good fortune of being able to shoot here. In more ways than one, our film resonates the same purity that we saw out there. Of course, there is Sara who debuts in our film, so somehow our locations did justice to her too,” adds Arjun, echoing our thoughts.
Says Bhushan Kumar, "We are very happy on the successful completion of the first schedule of Kedarnath. This is my second film with KriArj Entertainment. It's really a privilege to partner with them on this prestigious film. It's a love story set in the land of Shiva, of whom, I am strong believer. My devotion towards Lord Shiva is utmost and this further makes this film very special."
