Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito becomes the first video ever to hit 4 billion views on YouTube


Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito just made history by becoming the first video to cross 4 billion views on YouTube. The Spanish song that released in January this year, has been in news for more than 9 months.
The video that has garnered this accolade is the original version of Despacito while the remix version featuring Justin Bieber holds 551 million views. Also called the Song of the Summer, Despacito remains one of the two longest running No. 1 in the history of US.  The remix which has been breaking multiple records stayed atop Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks and is still amongst the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts. 
The song also set Vevo records for most views of a Spanish-language video in 24 hours with 5.4 million hits, as well as for the fastest video to reach 200 million views, 2 billion views and 3 billion views. The track also racked-up 4.6 billion streams in just six months, another record, according to Nielsen Music's U.S Mid-Year Report. The remix also recently broke all streaming records on Wynk Music.
Previously, YouTube’s most viewed video was See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth which holds hundreds of millions of views in less than a year.
