After designing for Grammy Award winning producers , The Chainsmokers for Road To Ultra India, India’s only 4 time national award winner, Neeta Lulla has been roped in to design for the World No. 12 DJ - KSHMR
KSHMR recently won the highest audio-visual act award at the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2017 ceremony after landing 12th overall in the chart. The US producer has had quite the few years since his first release, ‘Megalodon’, catapulted him into the spotlight. Breaking into the Top 100 DJs 2015 list in serious style, debuting at No.23, he hasn’t looked back since. A regular at the top of the Beatport charts, not to mention go-to studio partner for the likes of DVBBS and Borgeous, his production prowess is matched by incredible stage presence, taking his unique sounds to a whole new level. Tracks such as ‘Touch’ and ‘Wildcard’ have proven beyond doubt that the Berkeley, California-based player is far from done delivering the audio goods, with landmark performances at Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas only adding to his overall status.
Known for combining Indian exoticism — a nod to his own heritage — with stadium-filling electronic sounds, this summer he launched his imprint, Dharma Worldwide, teaming up with emergent Dutchman Maurice West for first single, ‘Festival Of Light’, which followed another collaboration — with the legendary Tiesto, no less — the not-so-subtly-titled ‘Harder’.
KSHMR who is currently on a massive India tour by Percept Live will be in for a sweet surprise as the Czarina of fashion will curate a bespoke outfit for his India visit.
Dharma Worldwide visionary, KSHMR kickstarted his 6 city tour with a benefit show titled KARMA in support of CRY in New Delhi that saw a stellar attendance of 15,000 fans and will travel to Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad with Mumbai being the final pit stop. In addition to this, KSHMR’s track ‘Underwater‘, with famed Indian musician Sonu Nigam has been a great success, and possesses a perfect blend of EDM and homegrown sounds, without compromising quality or tradition.KSHMR states, “I have always been quite fascinated by Indian sensibilities when it comes to fashion and style and I’m excited to see what Neeta has in store for me.”
Speaking about her design Neeta Lulla states, “ KSHMR is known to love his kurtas so we have tried to experiment with the style, fabric and design and make a Diwali friendly kurta. The exotic vibe of Kashmir and the aesthetic history of paisley is all the inspiration we needed to design for the very talented Indo American DJ KSHMR. Given the history of KSHMR and his love for Kashmir, the versatile paisleys seemed very apt to reflect our Indian heritage and the intricacy of our craftsmanship. KSHMR has been very experimental with his music and we thought of doing the same with his outfit. The design is very subtle yet has that Indian touch given to it with the astute details in the embroidery. We have also curated one more kurta where we have embroidered the KSHMR logo in ruby red jewels which he can wear when he performs on stage. The materials used are silk and cotton blend giving it a rich feel.
This will not be the first time Neeta will be associating with a global artist. In the past she has designed for Steven Seagal and Tyra Banks apart from designing for Bollywood stalwarts like Kangana Ranaut, Aishwarya Rai Bacchan, Priyanka Chopra, Rajnikanth, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan amongst others.
