Modern day dating and romance is more often than not shaped by technology. But wouldn’t it be really great, if we could go back to the age of old- school romance? No, we are not talking about the romance of the 70s , with flowers brushing against each other or the tree being the ideal wingman. We are talking about the innocent romance where we exchanged letters and the wait for the letters was worth it. Fame-istan’s latest movie #Letters will be like a breath of fresh air and will definitely make you miss the first love of your life.
Written by Gautam G Sharma and mentored by Mohit Suri, HP MTV #Fameistain brings the story of Amber, a social media savvy guy who falls for a simple girl. They say opposites attract and the latest short film by HP MTV #Fameistan will make you believe in this age old adage. The story of Amber and the love of his life begins at a small café. Amber falls for a simple girl who doesn’t believe in social media presence. Amber finally gets hold of her address and sends her letters, never to receive a reply from her. After months of waiting, Amber finally decides to travel to the girl’s place only to find that she had tried contacting him on social media while he had deleted his accounts after meeting her.
Commenting on mentoring a budding director, ace director Mohit Suri said, “It’s great for young film-makers to come up with something like this. My mentor, Mr. Mahesh Bhatt once told me, you are not a film-maker till you don’t have a release. There’s a new contact that a film- maker learns when his film comes out and is viewed by people. There’s new feedback that you get and the conventional way is sitting at a theatre and seeing what people are responding to your films. You learn from them. That’s how I have made my own graph of seeing how my own films have evolved. There’s no substitute to see what the feedback of the viewer is. With social media becoming so big today, you can see peoples’ comments and feedback. You know you are competing in an arena where there are so many people who are putting their films out. I think it’s a great exposure, especially when you are getting backed by MTV India. You at least have a platform to put your work out.”
Will Amber finally meet the love of his life? Or will it be yet another story of unrequited love?
The movie has already received 2.2 MN views on Facebook, don’t you want to check it out?
