Global film tourism conclave held in Mumbai

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in Mumbai today that films can play an important role in “exposing and eliminating”, the menace of terrorism and radicalism.
Addressing a "Global Film Tourism Conclave", organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Mumbai, Shri Naqvi said that the Indian film industry has been playing an important role in eliminating various social ills, creating an atmosphere against various social problems and also towards bringing social reforms.
Shri Naqvi stated that Indian films have succeeded in delivering effective messages on social, cultural and reformist issues.
Shri Naqvi disclosed that various locations of India have a special place for film shooting for film makers around the world. India is geographically, socially and culturally a rich and beautiful country. In India, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gujarat to northeast states, beautiful locations attract not only domestic but also foreign film makers to shoot their movies at these places.
Shri Naqvi informed that the Central Government and various State Governments encourage film makers of the country and the world to make film in their areas. “We should provide information to the entire world about these promotional programmes” he added.
Shri Naqvi emphasised that India is full of all facilities, possibilities and resources to become the world's "Film Tourism Hub". Shri Naqvi said that organizations such as PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry can play an important role in encouraging these possibilities.
Shri Naqvi reaffirmed that India is one of the few countries in the world where the film sector has an industry status.
Mr. Zigmund Bertok, Ambassador, Embassy of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Radu Dobre, Ambassador, Embassy of Romania, Mr. Jaykumar Rawal, Minister of Tourism, Maharashtra and leading film personalities Mr. Mukesh Bhatt, N. Chandra, Kunal Kapoor and many other film directors, producers, distributors, writers and other film personalities of India and many other countries attended this "Global Film Tourism Conclave".
