Noted Sanskrit scholar, discourser, thinker and scholar in Saint literature, Dnyansadhu Vasudevrao Govind Chorghade passed away on Sunday due to old age. He was 87. He or leaves behind wife Vasudha, a son Abhay, daughter-in-law Anjali; two daughters Jayashree and Aparna, sons-in-law and a host of relatives. Last rites were performed the same day at Ambazari ghat.
Born on April 12, 1931, Vasudevrao Chorghade had retired as an auditor from Postal Department. He was MA in English and a Sanskrit scholar. He had also passed Hindi Pradnya and different examinations of audit and accounts. Late Bhausaheb Shewalkar Pratishthan had honoured him with the title 'Dnyansadhu'. Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University and Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh had also honoured him.
Vasudevrao Chorghade authored sixteen books and numerous articles on Indian philosophy, commentaries on several stotras and works by Shri Shankaracharya, Shri Swami Maharaj and other saints and philosophers. Two books of him were translated in to Gujarati and Kannad. He had penned preface to more than 30 books, book reviews and articles on Saint literature. He delivered a number of discourses, lectures. He was also an eminent writer on various religious issues. His articles were published in religious periodicals like Pradnyalok, Chaitanyaprasad, Samyayog, Wasudeoniwas, Yogprakash etc. He was an acclaimed writer for Akashwani Nagpur radio drama, delivered lectures and thoughts on All India Radio for last 50 years.....
