The newly renovated canteen block was inaugurated on 05-03-2019 at 11.30Hrs at All India Radio, Panaji, Goa by Shri D.K. Sudame, DDE and Shri S.A. Bhogale, UDC, the outgoing staff who are retiring shortly. The canteen has been totally refurbished with clean and hygienic kitchen and serving area. Provision has been made of all facilities including pure Aquaguard water, water cooler, refrigerator etc.
This canteen was closed or inoperative since 2015 due to unhygienic kitchen and damaged building conditions. The shift duty staff, casual staff, visitors, artists used to face a lot of difficulties for refreshments at odd hours since the office is located on a hilltop. Staff had to either go to Panaji city or arrangements were made through office for the requirements of refreshments. Also tea, snacks required by the office during VIPs visit had to be brought from Panaji main city restaurants.
Now with the commencement of canteen through outsourcing shall have the convenience of having inhouse hygienic refreshments at affordable rates. The canteen provides breakfast items, Veg/Nog-Veg lunch, tea, coffee, cold drinks and many more items at affordable rates.
