Mumbai, 14th July, 2017: With India’s inevitable evolution from a cash economy to an automated one, influential Indian financers opined on the way forward for Cashless India while touching base with vital banking reforms at the 2nd edition of India Banking Reforms Conclave 2017 by Governance Now. From the need to invest in digital infrastructure and necessity for better networks; innovations with regulations to merging digital and physical banking, diverse topics were addressed.

“Any intended reforms will be meaningful only if they are understood in proper perspective which all stakeholders have to value,” said RBI deputy governor SS Mundra while delivering his keynote address at the Conclave.Mundra said that despite banks deploying best technology for securing their network, cyber-attacks have acquired unprecedented scale and complexity. He cautioned customers to use passwords protection provided by banks rationally and with responsibility. He added, “All security footprints of the person who has initiated the transaction can be captured in the system.”
This conclave served as a platform for dialogue amongst Banks (public and private), Regulators, Academia, Economists and industry experts that generated insights into innovations and transformation in banks for furthering financial inclusion in the country.
