230 feet high and 30 feet wide. The largest mural in the country had to be for the man whose stature cannot be expressed in words…the undisputed superstar, Amitabh Bachchan! Celebrating the legendary actor’s 75th birthday, Zee Classic with its proposition Woh Zamana Kare Deewana, commissioned a special larger-than-life mural on a building in Bandra, Mumbai. And, while the world has stood in awe of the actor’s inspiring image, Amitabh Bachchan has acknowledged the magnificent image with a witty tweet!
Taking to Twitter upon laying his eyes on the mural, Amitabh Bachchan posted pictures of the artwork along with the message “T 2697 - They build a 'DEEWAR' on a deewar .. in Bandra, Mumbai ..!!”
While Amitabh Bachchan is rejoicing in the moment, his fans have joined in this celebration too. The excitement among fans is visible as the tweet as well as Facebook post has been shared over 1,200 times each and liked over 18,000 times. If you think that’s a massive response, then hold your breath as his Facebook post is most likely to set a record with a whooping 73,000 reactions. And, the numbers continue to increase with every passing minute.
A sight for sore eyes, Amitabh Bachchan’s mural is truly a tribute to him and his fanatic fan following who have, over the past one month, celebrated his 75th birthday with much fanfare!
Together with artist Ranjit Dahiya from Bollywood Art Project, Zee Classic recreated Amitabh Bachchan’s signature angry young man avatar from Deewar and titled it ‘Bachchan Bemisaal Poore 75 Saal’. The mural, which is now fully complete, and standing proud at Mumbai’s Bandra Reclamation, truly does justice to his intense eyes…a look that captivated million of hearts!
