Launches ‘Make Cinema’ – a film making competition for students below the age of 21 years!
Mumbai, 20th November: International Kids Film Festival of India (IKFFI), the first ever online kids film festival curated by LXL Ideas in association with the French Embassy, Culture House of Iran and Children’s Film Festival, Seattle powered by YouTube Kids, concluded in a grand ceremony held in Shree Chandulal Nanavati Vinay Mandir, Mumbai today. The closing ceremony was attended by various celebrities and renowned dignitaries from the industry including Varun Tandon (Filmmaker), Pooja Das Sarkar (Filmmaker), Kate Chaillat (Filmmaker), Hitesh Chaurasia (Filmmaker), Hetvi Bhanushali (Actor and IKFFI Co-Anchor), Syed Sultan Ahmed (MD, LXL Ideas), Radhika Srinivasan (Principal, Shree Chandulal Nanavati Vinay Mandir), Neha Jain (Festival Programmer, IKFFI) Akshata Udiaver (Manager for Content Partnership, YouTube).
Six-day-long online film festival, IKFFI, was hosted by 500+ schools across the globe. This unique format film festival that was spread out to 80+ cities across 10+ countries reaching 7 lakh+ students. The film festival also received entries of exclusive films from more than 500 filmmakers from 30+ countries across the world. Some of the most eminent directors of short films, animated films, documentary films, live action films and feature films like, Majid Majidi, Neha Sharma, Lipika Singh Darai, Mikey Hall, Galvin Scott Davis, Mirjam Marks, Paul Szynol, Bhargav Saikia, Gautam Vaze were part of this mega kids’ festival that screened in Varied languages like English, Spanish, French etc.
The film festival has been successful in not just in entertaining, but also evoking emotions, inspiring, educating our future citizens and provoking discussions that need to be raised. It also helped to promote the art of motion pictures by live screening the best of children movies from all over the world.
LXL Ideas is also hosting a filmmaking competition for Students as part of the International Kids Film Festival, as the organization would like to encourage young filmmakers to translate their dreams and stories into films by participating in Make Cinema. Students below the age of 21 can participate in the competition and their film submissions must be made before December 31, 2017. The winners of the competition will be announced on January 26, 2017.
