Mumbai, xx November 2017: It’s that time of the year again when stars descend from the skies, into Television Screens and put their best foot forward to honor and felicitate deserving talent. Just before Bollywood starts its awards ceremonies, the Indian TV fraternity has come together to kick start the awards season with Indian Television Academy Awards 2017 (ITA 2017). Hosted by Manish Paul and Ali Asgar, the gala event will be telecast on 26th November 2017 as a double dhamaka treat at 2pm and 5pm, only on COLORS
Making this show grander than ever before, the chief guest of the evening, I&B and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani is set to give an awe inspiring speech dedicated to all the people associated to the television industry.
Apart from honoring talent from various sectors of the TV industry, the event will see an exciting line up of never before seen performances by TV’s biggest faces! Mouni Roy gives a scintillating performance with a solo dance piece! Ravi Dubey and Shantanun Maheshwari are ready to sizzle the stage with their daredevil dance moves. This will be interspersed with awe inducing dance performances by popular dance groups from the TV show Dance Plus - X1X Group, Question Mark Group and the all-girls Hip Hop group Ele Angels Group. Shape shifter Ali Asgar along with host Manish Paul will tickle audience’s funny bones with their impromptu jokes and excellent comic timing! Veteran actor Anupam Kher takes it upon himself to praise the work on Television in India.
Recognizing the surge of web content in India, the ITA Panel for the first time introduced a new category – Best Web Series. Vivek Oberoi and Richa Chadha starrer Inside Edge won the award for the Best Web Series. Veteran actor Satish Shah and Vivek Oberoi find themselves in a tie for the title of Best Actor in Web Series. Host of evening, Manish Paul is also felicitated with a fitting award – Most Popular Entertainer in Television. Its comedy versus vamp, as Shubhangi Atre and Kamiya Punjabi set the stage on fire with their exhilarating performances. Shubhangi takes homes the Best Actress – Comedy Awards, while Kamiya walks away with Best Actress – Negative Role. Sweeping the top accolades; Best Popular Actor was bagged by two of the best faces - Nakuul Mehta and Vivian Dsena; while heartthrob Purab Kohli took home the award for Best Actor Drama.
