8 years ago, a deadly attack shook Mumbai. The after-effects of this attack was the cry for peace. Yesterday, for the 5th year in a row, Welingkar Institute of Management Research & Development (WeSchool) and conceptualised by Business Of Ideas took lead in organizing the ‘Global Peace Initiative’ to commemorate the memory of victims of 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai. The event was attended by some of the most influential celebrities of the entertainment and fashion industry who, in their own ways, have pledged to take forward the beacon of peace.
Almost 45 celebrities, including Amruta Fadnavis, Manish Paul, Gautam Rode, Adaa Khan, Nia Sharma, Raghu Ram, Karan Mehra, Rohit Khandelwal, Abhishek Kapoor, Shie Lobo, Himani Shivpuri and Sugandha Mishra were present at the event. The celebrities, dressed up in the glamorous attires designed by none other than Archana Kocchar walked the ramp with NGO kids. The event was hosted by the beautiful Kubra Sait.
The audience was filled with enthusiastic, determined and passionate young boys and girls, who too were determined to not let the journey of peaceful existence falter.
Advocate Shri. S.K. Jain, Chairman, LMC, WeSchool and Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali said,”Peace and harmony are not just words but instruments of change that remove human suffering and degradation. Youth is the future and WeSchool is committed to mentor them to recognize their rightful role and place in the diversely multicultural global society.”
In the past, Mumbai has lost many lives but has always bounced back with much positivity. The Global Peace Initiative saluted this very valiant essence of the city.
