Young Ideas, an incubator for young entrepreneurs invests over Rs. 1.4 crore in three unique start-ups - Grad Limited, PlaySports & Acadnion

Grad Limited: A mentorship platform for graduates helping them explore relevant career and education avenues on the basis of their scientifically assessed profiles

PlaySports: A pick-up sports app that functions as a social network for athletes and fitness enthusiasts to connect, remain updated on sporting events and organize a group sporting activity of their choice

Acadnion:  A one of its kind digitally interactive platform through which students, teachers and parents can communicate, discuss and engage in activities that improve the learning curve and make the education system more collaborative

Mumbai, November 25, 2016: Young Ideas, was started in 2015 by Gaurav Assomull with the objective of identifying top young entrepreneurs in the country to invest in and house them together under an incubator. The entrepreneurs thus would have support right from the ideation stage, to funding and implementing the project. 

Post an intensive campaign of inviting application from the business schools in Maharashtra, Young Ideas, have now identified 3 start ups for their first incubation. Chosen from the segment of Education and Sports these start-ups not only address a prevalent issue but are poised to become game changers. Young Ideas has invested over Rs. 1.4 crore, which includes Rs. 60 lakhs in Grad Limited, Rs. 70 lakhs in PlaySports and Rs. 16 lakhs in Acadnion respectively. The incubator is considering 4 new RFPs now for its next incubation round in April 2017 and while the focus on education sector will continue, they are also keen in exploring the healthcare segment. 

Commenting on their investment, Gaurav Assomull from Young Ideas said, "The concept of Young Ideas was born from my own experience as an entrepreneur where finding the right platform for our start up - Intergent with my partner Karan Singh was a challenge. Though this financial year we will be executing government projects of over Rs. 400 crores pan India, our growth would have been expedited if we had the platforms to raise funding as a start-up in 2012. At Young Ideas we will not only be providing funds for Grad Limited, PlaySports and Acadnion but will also equip them with mentorship and the right industry connects to kick start and grow the businesses. Each of these ventures addresses not just a concern in education and sports but are also a passion for all those associated with them. We are excited about the game changer that each of these products would be and look forward to the contributions they would make to their respective sectors." 

Grad-limited is a mentorship platform for graduates, helping them explore relevant career and education avenues on the basis of their scientifically assessed personalities. It is also a facilitator for companies and course providers to enhance sourcing efficiency by enabling access to a targeted talent pool. The mission is to augment the way fresher’s and industries interact with one another by providing a data driven system that aids informed decision making. Grad Limited will be launched by December. 

PlaySports is a platform that is designed to address all your needs when it comes to playing sports for leisure or professionally. From AstroPark in Lower Parel to Dribble in Thane, the app can assist with ground bookings across a spectrum of venues. The app also offers news and event listings to keep you updated on the go. Besides, it has integrated Citrus Payment Gateway facilities, so you can make payments via the app for workshops, tournaments and other featured events. Eventually, one will be able to buy sports apparel and gear through the app too. The app has already launched its pilot version. 

Acadnion is a one of its kind interactive platform through which students, teachers and parents can communicate, discuss and engage in activities that improve learning and communication. Each individual in this triangle must be comfortable and at ease with each other’s involvement to ensure that education is of the highest quality- Gone should be the days where attendance and grades are written by hand- using our platforms, communication between Students, parents and teachers has never been easier. Our platform allows students to interact with between colleges on assessments, pre exams and for all educational based content sharing. Acadnion will be available to users by January.
