Actor Akshay Kumar raises approximately Rs 6.50 crore in an impromptu appeal for ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ at 13th Motilal Oswal Annual Global Investors Conference 2017

Tuesday, September 05, 2017:  On 4th Sept evening, at the 13th Motilal Oswal Annual Global Investor Conference 2017, Actor Akshay Kumar raised more than Rs 6.50 crore for the families of martyred soldiers in less 30 minutes from
CEOs and corporate honchos for his initiative ‘Bharat Ke Veer’. The session was moderated by Amit Lodha, DIG , BSF.
Based on an idea by Akshay Kumar  that the families of martyred should be taken care; “Bharat Ke Veer” is an initiative  based on providing financial assistance to the families of Martyred military and paramilitary forces personnel. This initiative supported by Govt Of India.
Motilal Oswal 13th Annual Global Investor Conference (13th MOAGIC 2017) is arguably the biggest Investor Conference in India. More than 150 leading Indian companies across sectors & about 700 institutional investors, fund managers, hedge funds from around the globe participated in 13th MOAGIC 2017.
This year’s conference theme is ‘India Rising’, which aims to give a glimpse of trends that will define the Future Landscape of the Indian Economy and its Capital Markets.
Akshay Kumar requested the corporates present at MOAGIC to come forward for this noble cause and donate generously. His genuine appeal touched the hearts of CEOs and corporate honchos and the flow of huge amount of donations started. While the hosts Motilal Oswal pledged to donate for all soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir presently listed on the site, Akshay’s close friend Vicky Oberoi chose Andhra Pradesh. Industrialist Puneet Dalmia offered support for martyrs from Assam, Orissa and Tamil Nadu. Businessman Sameer Gehlaut chose Haryana, while film producer Prerna Arora from Kriarj Entertainment chose Himachal Pradesh. The makers of Kwality Milk pledged to donate for all soldiers from Rajasthan, while L&T announced a donation of 50 lakhs.
Akshay Kumar & Amit Lodha thanked donors for such impromptu and generous contribution.
