Model turn actress Mahika Sharma known for being miss teen north east, India visits kolkata sex workers to celebrate the Durga Festival."Like every year this year too we are celebrating Durga Puja and luckily I got to celebrate it at kolkata. During Durga Puja, God in the form of the Divine Mother is worshiped in her various forms as Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Though the Goddess is one, She is represented and worshiped in three different aspects. On the first three nights of the festival, Durga is worshiped. On the following three, Lakshmi and then Saraswati Devi on the last three nights. The following tenth day is called Vijayadasami. Vijaya means "victory", the victory over one's own minds that can come only when these three Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati are worshiped," Mahika said in her statement.
"Lucky to celebrate the festival. Got the the chance to know the sex workers community and I feel like we society should accept them like normal beings so that they can stop prostitution and can live a life like us. I felt they stuck to the field because they feel like we wont have respect towards them. I urge people to help them live a normal life like us," Mahika concludes.
