The benevolent singer and composer is giving away the money raised to charity
Bangalore, 27th September 2017: What do you think will you be doing at the age of 90? It certainly won’t include standing on a stage, singing your heart out, in order to make a difference to the world. Khayyam ji is a young and sprightly 90 year old composer whose music career spanned four decades. He won the Filmfare awards for Best Music for Kabhi Kabhie in 1977 and again in 1982 for Umrao Jaan. At the age of 89, Khayyam ji donated his entire wealth to a charity. This however wasn’t enough, as he is back with Shyam-E-Khayyam,where this extraordinary individual shall weave his magic in Bangalore, while the proceeds of this function will go to charity and will aid heart surgeries for children & the pulse polio initiative from Rotary district 3190.
This is what Khayyam Ji had to say, "I am coming down to Bangalore to take part in Rotary's Charitable Musical Fundraiser called Shaam E Khayyam. This initiative is a small contribution from my part to make a difference in the lives of the people in need.I believes that a life lead in service of others is a fruitful one.I hope this initiative is able to usher in a positive change. It is a worthy cause and shall help children with heart problems and the ones suffering from the wrath of Polio. Every small contribution matters and this is my attempt at doing something good."

This money shall be used to cover the costs of the kids’ surgery & the pulse polio program. The smallest contribution you make will help save their lives. The funds from this campaign will be transferred to Rotary district 3190 (since they are a regisered NGO & you get tax benefits)
The event shall take place on 7th of Oct, 2017 at 6 PM at the Good Shepherd Auditorium.
