Sita Sudhakar believes that our faces are the gateway to our senses and essential to expressing emotions, consciously or unconsciously – Such as a frown denotes disapproval; a smile usually means someone is pleased. God has created eyes, noses, lips, chins and ears very carefully in different shapes and sizes, so that each individual holds their own beauty, manners, expressions, feelings, and thoughts. While expressions for basic emotions might look the same, there are certain nuances to each individual’s expressions that make them more endearing and personal.
Our face is the main physical feature that gives us our identity; people learn to recognise us over time because they store an image of our face in their memory.  It is also the fundamental basis for empathy and gives us the ability to interpret the reactions and behaviours of the people we interact with - Because facial expressions  are an important form of non-verbal communication. Our external features such as the eyes and mouth easily reflect our inner emotions such as sorrow, happiness, anger and seriousness. Keeping this in mind, Sita Sudhakar intends like to highlight in her paintings, that the face is the mirror of the inner soul.
Similarly, she is fascinated by pillars and the various forms in which they exist. Humans have created different types of pillars for different purposes - Some are used for foundation, some for ornamentation, and some for praying.
Just as a pillar represents strength and stability, there are many people in our lives, such as our family and friends, who act as our pillars of strength. Just as pillars stand strong and remain resilient through rain or shine, people also face challenges in a similar manner by holding  their head up high and with dignity.
By combining the concept of faces and pillars, Sita Sudhakar wants to illustrate that the strength seen through facial expressions is derived from the pillars of strength within them and the external pillars of support in the form of other people.
There are fifty nine paintings in the exhibition, each one represents different feelings, characters and emotions. She visualises pillars as strong characteristics and qualities in people. Her objective behind this creative concept is very simple - She has taken on this project to unearth and reveal raw emotions that we sometimes try to keep hidden. Her art reflects the same tenderness and great romanticism that inspire her creative soul.
