Our bright children:Prerak S/O Nilesh Mankad, UDC, AIR Rajkot has represented Saurashtra Cricket team and team became Champion of Ranji Trophy 2019-20.



It is a matter of Proud for Akashvani Parivar that Prerak Mankad (Son of Nilesh Mankad, UDC, All India Radio, Rajkot) has represented SAURASHTRA CRICKET TEAM in the most prestigious Domestic Cricket Tournament of our Country i.e. RANJI TROPHY. Saurashtra became Champion of Ranji Trophy 2019-20.

Prerak Mankad is a grandson of Late Shri Jayantkumar Mankad who was an Announcer Sr.Gr. since the commencement of All India Radio, Rajkot. He was gifted Magical Voice by the Almighty and therefore he had performed main character of Chhaganbapa in the Rural Programme named "Gaam No Choro" for three decades. People of Saurashtra Region are still remembering him for his presentation in a typical Kathiwadi language. He passed away in December 1986. Thereafter his Son Nilesh Mankad was appointed as LDC on compassionate ground.

Nilesh Mankad also played Cricket at School/College level and represented West Zone Cricket Team in the Tournament conducted by the Ministry of I & B and Prasar Bharati for number of Times.

Prerak Mankad has made his Ranji Trophy debut in the Final of Ranji Trophy for the year 2015-16 seasons and scored 66 Stylish Runs against a solid opposition like Mumbai on the seaming pitch of Pune. Then he became useful All Rounder of Saursahtra Cricket Team. In Last four years Saurashtra reached three times in the finals of Ranji Trophy and Prerak Mankad was a member of Playing XI in all three finals.

So far Preak Mankad has played 32 First Class Matches and scored 1432 Runs in 52 Innings with 11 Fifties and 01 Century (126 Not Out) against formidable side of Karnataka at Patiala. He has taken 34 Wickets at an economy rate of 2.64. In current Ranji Trophy Season i.e 2019-20 Prerak has scored 445 Runs and took 23 wickets as a Right Arm Medium Pacer showing an art of swing bowling. Moreover he is representing Saurashtra Team in all three formats of game i.e. Ranji Trophy (Multi days), Vijay Hazare Trophy (One dayers) and Syed Mustaq Ali T-20 Tournament as an All rounder for Saurashtra Cricket Team.

It's a matter of pride for Prasar Bharati Parivar and it showers it's blessings on his bright son.
