Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated Child Care Centre of Tata Memorial Hospital under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of Mumbai Port Trust. The space for the centre has been provided by Mumbai Port Trust(MPT).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gadkari said that this is the happiest moment for him to inaugurate the Child Care Centre. He further said that within a year, these three neglected buildings of Mumbai Port Trust were developed and 1.2 acre property was converted into a safe, clean, cheerful haven for children who are under treatment for disease like cancer.
St. Judes a Non- Profit organisation, which works for the treatment of ailing cancer children of financially weaker section of the society will be able to take care of 40 per cent patients with this accommodation. These children are treated at Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital.
Bollywood Actor Nana Patekar, Doctors from TMC, representatives of St. Jude’s and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
