“Growing up in Mumbai, Janmashthami has always been a big attraction for me. I used to wait eagerly to see the human pyramids making multiple attempts to break the handi. Not wanting to be left behind, we as children also used to try our hand at it and tumble many times.”
Tanvi Azmi who plays the titular roles of twins in Vani Rani said,
"Festivals are an integral part of India, therefore I think all festivals should be celebrated and enjoyed and I feel this legacy should be passed on to the next generation as well. As a kid, I enjoyed participating in Janmashthami celebrations and my kids have taken over. I take my kids to see the celebrations as I want them to experience all festivities. But my most enjoyable moment is watching my husband dance like Shammi Kapoor as he sings Govinda Ala Re."
Farnaz Shetty who essays the role of Manpreet in Waaris said,
“I am a staunch follower of Lord Krishna. I always have a his statue in my make-up room as I believe he gives me the strength to overcome all hardships. Every year during Janmashthami, me and my family visit the Iskcon temple and seek his blessings.”
Ankit Gera who essays the role of Anurag in Agnifera said,
“The festival of Janmashtami brings back a lot of childhood memories for me as I used to love donning the attire of ‘Krishna kanhaiya’. In Delhi this festival is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. Due to work commitments, I miss being home with my family on Janmashthami and enjoying the festivities.”
Gungun Uprari who essays the role of Yashoda in Paramavatar Shri Krishna said,
“The festival of Janmashtami is very close to my heart. Having spent my growing years in Uttar Pradesh, I used to visit Vrindavan to celebrate the festival. Those memories are still fresh in my mind and I will always cherish them. However, my most special Janmashtami was after the birth of my baby girl when I dressed her as Krishna on this auspicious day.”
