Drama Workshop" conducted by RABM(P), Thiruvananthapuram at Department of Performing Arts, Pondicherry University
Five-day "Drama Workshop" was conducted by RABM(P), Thiruvananthapuram at the Department of Performing Arts, Pondicherry University from 19th to 23rd February. Dr.C.K.Ramaiah, Dean, Department of Performing Arts, Shri G.Selvam, Head of Programmes AIR, Puducherry and Shri.J.Sundar, Head of Programme, DDK, Puducherry participated in the inaugural session along with Shri.Radhakrishnan.S, ADP, RABM(P) who was the Course Coordinator. Smt.Lekha Gopal, PEX, RABM(P) welcomed the participants.Officials working in various All India Radio Stations in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadeep and Kerala participated in the Workshop.
The students of the Department of Performing Arts, University of Pondicherry whole heartedly participated in making the arrangements for the same. Visiting Faculties such as Shri.M.S.Perumaal, Former Director, DDK, Chennai, Dr.C.K.Ramaiah, Dean Department of Performing Arts, Dr.V.Santhisiri, Asst.Prof. Department of Electronic Media & Mass Communication, University of Pondcherry, Shri.S.Elangovan, ASE, AIR, Pondicherry, and Prof.Jayasakthivel, Asst. Professor, Dpt. of Journalism &Communication, University of Madrass handled the topics - How to use Radio/TV Drama for Educational purpose, Writing Audio Scripts, Modern Softwares for better Quality Radio Productions, History , Evolution and the Present state of Radio Drama over the Globe. Participants actively involved themselves in the group discussions, script writing, and production. Three short skits were produced as part of the practical sessions, which were critically evaluated during the valedictory session.
