Hemalatha commented, “We from the electric vehicle industry are always sensitive and concerned on the impact of the vehicular pollution on environment. In response to concerns about rising energy cost, energy dependence, and environmental damage, a rekindling of interest in electric vehicles (EVs) has become obvious. India is at the nascent stage of electric transformation. Our intent and that of the government is aligned in direction of creating a sustainable environment.”
“The effectiveness, efficiency and feasibility of policy measures by the government, especially with respect to the support to industry will ensuretomorrow’s future and winners. On this earth day we firmly resolve our commitment to cleaner and greener environment,” Hemlatha added.
On behalf of the EV Industry, she demanded, “We need at least five year consistent support mechanism from the government for the EVs, so that the critical mass for future growth is achieved. It had also been the global trends that wherever EV mass percolation has taken place government have provided full support to its domestic industry. A good beginning can be made by extending FAME II for next five years and providing easy bank loans for the buyers of EVs.”
