Celebrating Originality with Stan Smith & Ranveer Singh

The pioneering sportswear for the street, adidas Originals celebrated originality with the living legend, Stan Smith and adidas Originals India Brand Ambassador, Ranveer Singh. The duo came together in an evening that was dedicated to fans of the iconic streetwear brand and the most coveted sneakers of all time- the Stan Smith.  
In an exclusive evening, Stan Smith interacted with sneaker-heads and influencers from the fashion, music and entertainment industry. The highlight of the evening was a talk-show featuring Stan Smith and Ranveer Singh, where guests got to know more about the legend, how Ranveer is carrying on his legacy from the court to the streets.
The country’s leading designers - Aneeth Arora for Pero, Namrata Joshipura, Rahul Mishra, and DAKU payed homage to the timeless sneaker; articulating the Stan Smith in their signature style.
Talking about his experience of meeting Stan Smith in person, Ranveer Singh said, “The amazing perks of being the brand ambassador for the most iconic streetwear brand in the world!  It was a privilege meeting the man behind one of my all-time favourite sneakers, and getting to know so much more about him. I am super stoked to get a pair of Stan Smith sneakers signed by him! This deserves a very special place at home.”
The talk-show was followed by an all original after party, featuring Madboy – Mink and Zokhuma,   adding some funk to music inspired from 70s & 80s. 
The party witnessed the much fanfare in the city and saw an attendance by a glittering army of celebrities and influencers that included, Namrata Joshipura, Nishka Lulla, Ekta Rajani, Ria Kamat, Cyrus Sahukar and TV’s hottest star, Karan Wahi among others.
ABOUT STAN SMITH
American Tennis icon, Stan Smith, began wearing the world’s first leather tennis shoes in 1971. After two successful seasons, with victories at both the US Open and Davis Cup in ‘71 and the Wimbledon in ’72, the decision was made to officially christen the simple white leather silhouette to the Stan Smith.
Following the name change in 1972 the new Stan Smith sneaker took the stage with Stan’s name gracing the shoe box and his iconic silhouette image, added to the shoe’s tongue.
