Dr.Rafeeq Masoodi,IBS,former ADG, DD was honored with traditional "DASTAR BANDI(Turbon rellocation) by oldest & front runing folk theatre enssemble of J&K NATIIONAL BHAND THEATRE(NBT) in a glaring function yesterday held at SHEIKH UL ALAM AUDITORIUM OF Badgam.District Magistrate Shri Muhammah Harun,IAS,was the chief guest while sufi music scientist Dr.Asim Shahzad was the guest of honor. Shri Mohi ud din Ajiz, patron of the NBT lauded Dr.Masoodi for having put his all out efforts in re- building the centuries old traditional folk theatre of kashmir "Bhand".He remembered him as acreal poineer of folk theatre moment in kashmir.
Dr.Masoodi was presented "khilatt'(Robe of Honor) and Dadtarbandi(Tieing of tradional white Turben on head) was also done on him.Dr.Asim Shahzad termed Dr.Masoodi a true LOVER OF ART & CULTURE & one who doesnt shy even beging for its development.Shri Muhamnad Harun,District Development Cimmissioner of Badgam also remebered Dr.Masoodi as a 100% artist & mad after its development.He even announced the establishment of SHAMAS FAQEER centre of art in Badgam.
