WORLD RADIO DAY - AIR,TIRUCHIRAPPALLI



AIR,Tiruchirappalli being one of the great grand old broadcasting centres of India; world radio day is an event to cherish, celebrate and focus on the youth.The day begin with a full blown article appearing on AIR, Tiruchirappalli recalling its glorious past and its commitment to the present generation(Kindly see the link for possible use: http://ift.tt/2o7JEaE). Jingles featuring eminent persons and youth were aired from 7.00 am on both the channels at punctuating points. 

They recollected their cherished moments with radio and exhorted the listeners that radio could help built holistic personalities. At 9.00 am listeners recalled what radio meant to them in the popular chat show Vasantha Azhaippu. At 10.00 am AIR Stations in Tamilnadu and Pudhucherry hosted a live Radio Bridge Programme. The participant from AIR,Tiruchirapalli Dr. Biju Joseph shared his personal experience how radio helps youth audience for time management, Life skill development and so on.

All the staff members gathered for a impromptu celebration of world radio day at 11.00 am and shared their association with radio emotionally.The meeting was attended among others by Smt .M.Vasuki,DDG(E), Sh.K.Natarajan,HOP and Dr.K.Parameswaran,DD(News). A live reporting on the Radio Sets Exhibition at Tiruchirappalli Museum was aired at 3.00pm.
