Select CITYWALK celebrates ‘WONDER WOMEN’, who have shown great courage and valour to overcome difficult challenges in life


-          From domestic abuse to cancer, these women have survived hardships and are now inspiring so many like them to be brave and full of hope
-          Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development, Mrs Maneka Gandhi was present to recognize and honour these ‘Wonder Women’ of India
-         Shahnaz Husain, a globally acclaimed first generation entrepreneur in Ayurvedic beauty and healthcare industry was present to facilitate these brave women
New Delhi, 22 March 2018 - Over the years, women have proved their strength in various walks of life and Select CITYWALK, made a humble effort to celebrate some of these brave women.  On Tuesday, Select CITYWALK hosted ‘WONDER WOMEN’ to celebrate the courage of women in our lives. The focus of the event was to commemorate some of the wonder women who fought against all odds and weaved magic in their world.
From domestic violence to cancer, these women have survived hardships and are now inspiring so many like them to be brave and rise above what holds them back. The shopping center invited these brave women of India to share their lives with the larger audience through an interactive dialogue.  
Ms Poonam Bagai, cancer survivor and founder of CanKids said, “Let’s celebrate ourselves as self, as a homemaker, as a contributing member of India’s workforce and as women who want to give back to society.” Major Neerja Masih, who has worked side by side in a man’s world by joining the armed forces, the First lady Officer of 44 Coy ASC of Indian Army expressed, “To be treated as an equal one has to behave like an equal”.  
The other present women represent various backgrounds and each one of them had their own motivational story to tell, to inspire and to encourage such as Ms Ritu Saini, who overcame bravely from the acid attack, Mrs Tripta Thapar is the brave mother of Shaheed Captain Vijyant Thapar, a Kargil war martyr. Ms Rashmi Anand rose from the dungeons of domestic violence to make a name for herself.Ms Vandana Kaul fought for animal rights and dignity of life all along and Ms Lalitha S.A. Nayak is working for the rights of the children of sex workers.
The purpose of this platform was to meet strong women of substance and draw inspiration from them to tackle the hardships in your own life.
