A little paint or a colourful dye, some fabric medium, intricate design blocks, whole lot of enthusiasm and little basics is all what you need to inculcate to transform a dull and dated kurti or a weary shoe or an old pillow cover into something quirky and modern! Make your summers special and enlightening by attending these interesting workshops for beginners at the Art Desh Gallery in Walkeshwar. “This is for the ones who want to try their hands at wearable art and innovate & create some real good stuff for keep sake purpose. Fabric (Cloth) painting is a very old practice. For centuries people have painted on fabric, creating beautiful wearable art, striking wall hangings cushion covers and more”, shares Artist Reena Vaishnav Naik from Art Desh .
The Live demonstration will be held on Sat. 12th May at the picturesque gallery, Art Desh for Kids, Homemakers, budding designers who can create designs with one-to-one guidance based on their choice of dyes and approach.The participants can also get their Old or New clothes, Shoes, Pillow Covers, etc to try something quirky on the fabric. About the technique, she shares, “There are many methods applying colours and creating stunning designs on fabric, so to make it easy for the art lover we will provide a structured introduction to the techniques of painting on fabric following an introduction to the materials. The purpose of the workshop is to explore ones creativity. You can use paint or colours on any material whether it is paper or cloth to create your own art work. Painting can be done in any method using a brush or other manual means to put pigment onto fabric. The result is a single unique work, so each time you make another one, you will have to follow the process from the beginning again.”
At the end of the workshop participants will take home their completed work of art, perfect for framing, wearing, hanging, or for display. The workshop is suitable for beginners and people of all abilities alike.
