Juhu Half Marathon

Sable, Supriya win Juhu Half Marathon
Mumbai: Avinash Sable from Mandwa in Beed district and Supriya Mali of Navi Mumbai ran away with top honours as they emerged the fastest male and female athletes respectively in the Juhu Half Marathon, presented by Roman Vision, on Sunday.
While Sable clocked 1:09:43, Supriya came home in 1:29:37, both athletes bagging the top prize of Rs 20,000 each. The prize distribution function was presided over by yesteryear Superstar Jeetendra and Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor.
Sable was followed home by Dnyaneshwar Morgha, who was 15 seconds slower at 1.09:58 and Shyam Uike in 1:30.05.
The fastest male in the 10K Run was Anantha TN, who stopped the clock at 31.45, while the fastest female 10K athlete was Varsha Bhawari, who finished in 37.17. They both took home Rs 15,000 each for their efforts.
In excess of 4000 runners participated in the inaugural Juhu Half Marathon, the first MSDAA recognized Half Marathon to be held in suburban Mumbai, which was organized by Get Fit Thru Sports Foundation (GETFIT) jointly with the Rotary Club of Bombay Airport (RCBA).
The event had 3 'timed' race categories in the Half Marathon (21.097km), 10km and 5km and offered a total prize fund of Rs 7 lakhs for five age categories in each race.
