New Delhi: Usha International, one of India’s leading consumer durable companies, sponsored Dr. Bharat Ram Open Sports Fest 2017 at the Lady Shriram College, New Delhi. With this sports fest, Usha aimed at providing a platform to young athletes and reaching out to thousands of participants from across Delhi. LSR won the overall team championship awards in nine out of the twelve sports organised at the event. At the event, Usha was conducting a three-day sewing experiential DIY workshop to creatively engage with the students by introducing them to technologically advanced Usha Janome automatic sewing machines like Dream Maker 120 and Allure. Alongside, there were live demo-stations for the Usha Oven Toaster Griller and hand-held Misty Fans.
Students were also being given an insight into the Usha Silai school programme which is a rural women empowerment initiative of the company. As on March, 2017, Usha has 12,228 Silai Schools in partnership with 52 NGO partners across all the states and union territories of India.

Dr. Bharat Ram Open Sports Meet at the Lady Shri Ram College for Women was a three day event from 9th March to 11th March, 2017, with participation of more than 1000 young players from various colleges and universities of Delhi. This event had twelve disciplines of sports ranging from Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Chess, Judo, Lawn Tennis, Shooting, Yoga, Table tennis, and Volleyball.
