Indian Artist Yashwant Shirwadkar’s 97th Solo show at Washington DC to be graced by Prime Minister Shri NarendraModi

Artist Yashwant Shirwadkar has been working relentlessly for the last 3 decades and has held several solo shows and group shows in India and abroad. His works are based on landscape series of Benares, Rajasthan, Kashmir and Kerala. Whether he is portraying the city of Mumbai, or the ghats of Benaras, Yashwant Shirwadkar's love of architecture is unmistakable and has largely influenced his work. There is something magical about the landscapes of Yashwant Shirwadkar. He has cast away the brush and he does an entire painting with the knife. Yashwant Shirwadkar is a profile painter who has earned for himself a place among top landscape painters of this country today.
Artist Yashwant Shirwadkar,will be adding another feather in his cap. His 97thsolo show will be held in Washington DC on behalf of US India Business Council at Andrew W Melon Auditorium from the 27th June to 1st July 2017.Hon. Prime Minister, Shri NarendraModi will be visiting the show during his US tour.
This is Yashwant Shirwadkar’s 97th Solo Show out of which around 12 show have taken place internationally. His shows were widely received in countries like Germany, Switzerland, France, England,HongKong and USA. Mr. Yashwant Shirwadkar shares, “I am very excited about my upcoming show. I am also happy that my concept of using shaving blades and palate knifes on oil which makes it look realistic has crossed boundaries. I feel fortunate that Shri NarendraModiji is planning to visit my show as well.
Shirwadkar basks in a proud tradition at a time when landscapes and portraits are becoming passe. In a time of abstract art, his painting comes as a fresh breeze where you can communicate with yourself and identify with the subtle nuances on the canvas.
The show will be showcased in India at ArtDesh Gallery, Walkeshwar in Mumbai in August 2017.
