Bhumi Pednekar is a pure perfectionist when it comes to her craft! The stunning actress has proven her acting prowess with two huge blockbusters in 2017 - Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Savdhan. Bhumi is now gearing up for one of her most challenging shoots for Abhishek Chaubey’s untitled next. Always one to pour herself into a character, Bhumi has altered her entire workout regime to master the role of a girl living in the rugged Chambal valley in the 1970’s. Bhumi has chosen dusty Suburban fields than swanky gyms as her training ground and her workout regime now includes walking with heavy water-filled buckets on her head under the boiling sun, sweeping and cleaning floors, walking barefoot in dusty fields and lanes, grinding wheat, among other rigorous household chores that rural women in India do.
“Abhishek wants his characters to look like they are from Chambal of the 70’s. His lead actress is a perfectionist and she wants to transform herself into a girl from the Chambal valley. Bhumi has altered her entire workout regime to get into the skin of her character. She has included daily household work that women in rural India undergo to become the girl of Abhishek’s vision,” reveals a source.
Bhumi, has won both critical acclaim and scored commercial blockbusters with her first three films – Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
