Prabhudutta Pradhan, former Akashvani Instrumentalist & Music composer of the all time great Sambalpuri song ?Rangabati? passes away



Prabhudutta Pradhan, the music composer of the all time great Sambalpuri song "Rangabati", breathed his last in the wee hours today, 28.05.2018. He was 75. Prabhudutta breathed his last at 4 am this morning at his residence in Sambalpur Road, his family informed.

As early as at the age of three years Prabhudutta started learning music under the mentor-ship of his father. In the year 1969 he joined All India Radio - Akashvani (AIR) at Sambalpur station as an instrumentalist. But it was only in the year 1975 he got a breakthrough when he composed the music for Rangabati song.

The popular Sambalpuri song was written by Mitrabhanu Gauntia and composed by Prabhudatta Pradhan and originally sung by Jitendra_Haripal and Krishna_patel. It has been recreated in many Indian languages.
