Biking Queens reach Mumbai City

Mumbai: 20thJuly 2017: After magnificently completing the ‘All Women 10 Nations’ ride last year the Biking Queens have taken up another initiative to spread the message of women empowerment. This time they are going the national route.  50 women riders embarked on a 10,000 km long journey from Gujarat to Khardung-La in Ladakh on their motor bikes to spread the message of women empowerment. Anandiben Patel, Ex Chief Minister of Gujarat flagged off their ‘All Women All India’ ride from P.P Savani Vidhya Sankul, Surat.  The grand flag off ceremony was also graced by the Mayor Asmitaben, MP C.R Patil and Darshanaben Jardosh, Commissioner of Police Satish Sharma, Dist. Collector Mahendra Patel, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Ajay Das Mehrotra, Range IG Shri Shamsher Singh and District Development Officer K. Rajesh, Lt. Colonel Sohan Roy and many more.  And now they have reached Mumbai.
50 women bikers from Biking Queens are a part of this rally, which will go through 15 states to Khardung-la the highest motorable pass in the world and hoist the Indian flag on Independence Day.
These riders are supporting the cause of ‘’Sashakta Nari Sashakta Bharat.’’ They will go through more than 5000 villages in 15 states namely Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, New Delhi, Chandigarh and Rajasthan. In every state they will meet the local people and spread the message of women empowerment. To help the underprivileged children they will also distribute more than 9000 educatory kits in all these states.  Sanitation is also a very important part of our lives and to encourage hygiene they will also distribute sanitary kits to women all over these states.
Biking Queens during their expedition will also meet and felicitate the native activists working for social welfare.
"We are riding for passion and social cause simultaneously. Women in our country have a lot of inhibitions about their talent. And there is also widespread inferiority complex among them. Through this journey we will be informing women about their rights and make them aware of the different occupations they can take up to earn their living," said Dr Sarika Mehta, Founder of the all women rider group 'Biking Queens.’
One their way back in August they will also meet Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi.

Biking Queens is an all women group of riders in Surat. Dr. Sarika Mehta, a psychologist by profession is the founder of this group which rides for passion and social welfare. It was found in the year 2015 and in just two years they have done a lot for the women and children around. Their claim to fame is the All Women Ten Nations ride which they successfully completed last year to promote the message of ‘ Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.’ Their motto is to keep working for the welfare of the society through their passion for riding.
