About No Honking Initiative
The No Honking initiative was undertaken in December 2017 with the vision to draw attention to the ill-effects of honking and to sensitise citizens of their civic duty to tackle it. The campaign was aptly named “Horn Not Ok Please”, drawing on the colloquial and popular words “Horn OK Please” often seen on heavy vehicles.  Four months into its inception, HNOP has reached lakhs of citizens. Over 4 lakh citizens across the state have taken the No Honking pledge by affixing No Honking stickers onto commercial and private vehicles. The Dream Run Mumbai Marathon in January 2018 saw support from over 300 Department officials and awareness drives were run across 300 schools.
HNOP aims to reach each and every individual until the menace of honking is understood and citizens undertake their duty of eliminating it.
