All India Radio in collaboration with the Akashvani Recreation Club of All India Radio, Mysuru, celebrated Kannada Rajyothsava on 20.11.2019. In the morning at 11 AM Sri. Sunil Bhatia, Director Engineering & the Chairman of Akashvani Recreation Club hoisted the Kannada Flag and then worshipped the Goddess Bhuvaneshwari. Sri. Umesh S.S. Asst. Director (Programme), Sri. N. Ramanjanappa, Asst. Director (Prog) and all other members of the staff were present.
At 6.00 PM cultural programme took place which was presided over by Sri. Sunil Bhatia, DE, AIR, Mysuru and Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Vice Chancellor , University of Mysuru participated as Chief Guest. Sri. S. Subramanya, Programme Executive & Secretary of Akashvani Recreation Club welcomed the chief guest, and the gathering. After the invocation song, Sri. Sunil Bhatia and others honoured the Vice Chancellor with garland and memento. After the inaugural speech by Sri . G. Hemanthakumar, Viced Chancellor, Mysuru University, Sri.S.S. Umesh, Asst. Director(Prog) gave a key note address on the occasion. Sri. N. Ramanjanappa, Asst. Driector spoke on the recent developments of Akashvani, Mysuru. After that , Akashvani Annual Award Winners Sri. P.C. Malimath, Announcer, and State Government Nominee for Yakshagana Acadcemi Sri. Divakar Hegde, PEX(Co). Prizes and Mementos were also distributed to the winners of Sports and Cultural Events held on this special occasion.
As a part of cultural programme A skit on "Ban of Plastic" was exhibited by the Staff of AIR, Mysuru
Main attraction of the evening function was Violin Duet concert by Sri. Mysore M. Nagaraj - Top Grade Violin Artist and Mysore N. Karthik who enthralled the audience present.
