The winning spree for MUKTI BHAWAN continues, after having bagged two awards at the 64th National awards, the film wins big at the Belgium Film Festival where the special jury were inmates from the Belgium jail. Shubhashish Bhutiani who debuted as a director with the film is grateful with this unanimous, worldwide acceptance and applause his first feature film has received.
Speaking about the win, Shubhashish enthused, "It was a completely different experience having taken the film to the Belgium film festival because the jury was so different from any that we have had thus far,” his excitement was completely understandable because films don’t really reach such varied audience as MUKTI BHAWAN has managed reaching out to the jury who were convicts serving their term in Belgium jail.
