With an aim to improve the lives of Mumbaikar and the city, Shaina NC’s NGO – ‘I Love Mumbai ‘celebrated ‘Maharashtra Day’ by announcing two noble initiatives.Unveiling of an art sculpture crafted by Padma Shri artist Paresh Maity in association with Art Musings and Ms. Gauri Khan and the launch of Kalam Library and Dreamathon Van in association with Kalam Foundation and Wockhardt Foundation
Both the initiatives were inaugurated by Shri Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, MCGM Additional Municipal Commissioner - Smt. Pallavi Darade, Dy Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kishor Kshirsagar and the ace Indian film producer Ms. Gauri Khan, who also contributed by conceptulising the sculpture designing idea.
Through Kalam Libraries, initially ten municipal schools will be benefitted with in-house libraries for students. This initiative aims to build libraries with an average of ten schools every month till December 2017. Furthermore, Dreamathon Van – ‘Missile of Dreams’initiative, aims to capture dreams of approximately one million youth on how they can contribute in the betterment of India.
Expressing views on the unveiling of the sculpture and launching of Kalam libraries Shaina NC said, “From a clean & green Mumbai, to cleaning up of Mahatma Phule Market, beautification by white-washing compound walls and illumination of heritage buildings, we have been taking up every project towards Green and clean Mumbai in the last three decades. With the launch of these initiatives, we would like to mark this year’s ‘Maharashtra Day’ towards an improved and good life for Mumbaikars.”
