The National Public Broadcasting Day 2019 was celebrated by the Broadcasting Engineering Society BES(I), Thanjavur Chapter in Co-ordination with Annai College of Engineering Technology, Kumbakonam on 12.11.2019.The function was Presided over by Honourable Member of Parliament Shri, S, Ramalingam, BA, Mayiladuthurai Constituency.
The function was inaugurated with prayer song followed by lighting the lamp by the delegates and welcome address given by Smt. A. Chitra, Chairperson, BES(I) Thanjavur Chapter, and expressed the day is celebrated every year November 12 th to commemorate the only visit of Mahatma Gandhi to the studios of All India Radio, New Delhi in 1947.Father of Nation addressed the displaced people, who had temporarily settled at Kurushetra in Haryana after India Pakistan partition. That was his first and last address in all India Radio.
Honourable Dr.Kovi. Chezhian, MLA, Thiruvidaimaruthur Assembly, Shri. TSK. Pillai, DDG, AIR, Trichy, Shri.M.Anwar Kabir, Chairmen ,Annai Group of Institutions Spoke on the event.
Followingly seminar was organized on the Topic
LATEST TRENDS IN WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY, taken by Dr.G.Mahadevan, Principal, Annai College of Engineering.BES(I) Thanjavur Chapter members, AIR&Doordarshan staff & number of students participated in the function and interacted on the topic. Vote of thanks was given by Smt.T.Annapoorani, EA, TVRC, Pudukkottai, member of BES(I) Thanjavur Chapter and the function ended with National Anthem.
