Star Movies presents the next installment of its iconic Star Wars space saga—Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which picks up the story 30 years after the close of the sixth episode, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Directed by J.J. Abrams and written by Lawrence Kasdan, J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt, Star Wars: The Force Awakens PREMIERES on Induan television for the first time on 5th February at 1pm and 9pm.
30 years after the defeat of Darth Vader and the Empire, Rey, a scavenger from the planet Jakku, finds a BB-8 droid that knows the whereabouts of the long lost Luke Skywalker. Rey, as well as a rogue stormtrooper and two smugglers, are thrown into the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the daunting legions of the First Order.
Aside from the rave reviews and broken records at the box office, The Force Awakens has re-ignited the Star Wars franchise, introducing a new central hero—Rey—who has allowed audiences to experience the Star Wars universe for the first time through the eyes of a young woman. Additionally, the central theme of family—a pronounced feature throughout the Star Wars saga—is reintroduced in The Force Awakens, underscoring its power and influence on the destinies of both its heroes and villains.   The Force Awakens also sees the reteaming of some of the most beloved characters ever to be created, including Harrison Ford as Han Solo; Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia; and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. Anthony Daniels, the only actor to have been in all seven Star Wars films, reprises his role as C-3PO and Peter Mayhew again plays the world’s most adored Wookiee, Chewbacca. The returning cast is joined by newcomer Daisy Ridley, who beat out fierce competition to take the principal role of Rey, and John Boyega who plays reluctant stormtrooper Finn. Adam Driver, who has been nominated twice for an Emmy® Award for his role in the hit TV series “Girls,” takes on the role of Kylo Ren and Golden Globe® nominee Oscar Isaac plays pilot Poe Dameron. Completing the principal cast are Golden Globe® nominee Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke; Academy Award® nominee Max Von Sydow as Lor San Tekka; Academy Award–winner Lupita Nyong’o as Maz; Tony Award® nominee Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux; Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma; and Simon Pegg as Unkar Plutt.
