Indian Author Ms. Smita Parikh awarded with the prestigious Vatayan Award of UK in London

Hindi literature protagonist Ms. Smita Parikh has been conferred with the Culture Achievement Award by the very prestigious Vatayan Award of UK for her contribution towards promoting Indian language, art and culture. The 4-day Annual Vatayan event took place in London, Birmingham and Bolton (Manchester) and Award ceremony was held at The Nehru Centre on 24th March 2017 in London. This annual award is organized to honor Indian writers/poets and provide them with an opportunity to interact with the UK-based thinkers and scholars.
Smita also launched her latest book ‘Nazmein intezar ki’ at Birmingham and Manchester which was well attended by literature lovers and acclaimed personalities, writers and visionaries like Mira Kaushik OBE- Director of Akademi and Chair of Vatayan, Divya Mathur - author and founder of Vatayan along with Dr Padmesh Gupta - author and founder of the UK Hindi Samiti. Mr. Arun Maheshwari of Vani Prakashan was also awarded with Vatayan Prakashan Award and Mr. Hari Om Gupta, Culture Secretary Uttar Pradesh with Vatayan Poetry Award.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Smita Parikh, Founder Lit O Fest and CEO/MD Ebizz entertainment India Pvt ltd said, ‘I am working very hard for reviving Indian Literature and I am glad that Vatayan Award recognizes and appreciate people who are working towards the cause. The youth of our country speaks and reads only in English and they are losing interest in Hindi Literature. I will always strive hard to generate interest towards Hindi Literature amongst youth and such awards will always motivate me to work towards my goal.’ Adding further she opines, “We started Lit O Fest 3 years ago and we always wanted to make it a global event. I’m happy that Lit O Fest will be happening in Oxford in October, 2017”.
Smita wishes to take Hindi literature international and wants to inspire everyone to be proud of their national language.  With this aim she started Lit O Fest which gives equal opportunities to emerging and established writers, poets, lyricists and artists to showcase their work, network and grow. Smita is also passionate about working towards the upliftment of the society and as a part of their social responsibility every year, they take up challenging work like adopting villages and educating children along with manifesting growth.
