1.05.20 Friday was a very hectic day for AIR AMBIKAPUR, office received message from SP Office regarding sealing of Boarders of Ambikapur in order to avoid entry of Infectious by Corona,and also informed withdrawal of security passess issued to station vehicle for carrying staff to Transmitter which is located outside the boarders of Ambikapur , located in Surajpur Dist. Adjacent to City Ambikapur,
We tried to convince Police Dept But in vain finally they agreed to issue one day Pass to carry staff to Transmitter and informed this lockdown may be last for 4-5 days,
Even in normal conditions no body want to perform Transmitter duty in a stretch I.e. 2-3 shift duty , but now conditions were far from normal some body has to stay there at Transmitter not for 2-3 shifts but for 4-5 days and days may increase if situation become worst, during meeting with HOP/ HOO suggestion were to shut the transmitter but as a E/H decided to discuss the matter with all Engg staff , immediately ask C/R EOD Sh B N Singh EA to take all in Conference and ask under such circumstances who is willing to go to Transmitter and to stay there for at least 5 days
During conference, came across different suggestions but all were agreed to one point I.e. not to shut down Transmitter and 3 most junior staff immediately agreed to perform duties at Transmitter and rest of staff also agreed to perform duties in 2nd round if needed and assure front warriors not to worry of their family back home.
Accordingly HOO informed police dept to allow staff vehicle to proceed to Transmitter,
Sh Sarad Tirkey EA, Sh. P N Sardar Tech and TR Gond Helper are our Front warriors who are performing duties at Transmitter and AIR Ambikapur is on air , no close down.
Khudos to their courageous decision and willing to work in any conditions
